Golf at Historic Mare Island, July 29

DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL SATURDAY, JULY 21. Great news! The RSVP date has been extended. Sign up now for an unforgettable round of golf with fellow Harvard alums. Don't miss this unique opportunity.

Play golf with fellow Harvard enthusiasts on the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi.  Club member Anne Knowlton is organizing a Harvard Club golf outing at the historic Mare Island Golf Club in Vallejo on Sunday, July 29.  The course features spectacular views of San Pablo Bay and Mt. Tam, so be sure to bring your camera.  Many relics remain from Mare Island's past as a major naval base.  More than 50,000 workers were employed at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard during WW II.

  • Tee time: 10 a.m.
  • RSVP:  We are hoping for at least 10 players and can accomodate up to 20. We need an early head count to make reservations, so RSVP no later than July 21st, to aaknowlton@ucdavis.edu.
  • Cost including cart: $65 per person for 18 holes of golf and contests, including prizes for longest drive, closest to the hole, etc.
  • If you are not a golfer, feel free to send your spouse, child, parent or significant other in your place. Lunch will follow (you can join them then).  If conversation lags at lunch, you can discuss molecular and cellular cardiology, which Dr. Knowlton teaches at the UC Davis med school! Payment info and directions will be furnished when you RSVP.
