Birding Walk with the Yale Club
We'll see Burrowing Owls and other grassland bird species.
Join the Yale Club of Sacramento for a birding walk along the Wildhorse Agricultural Buffer in Davis on Saturday, June 9. It's a chance for a close look at Burrowing Owls and other grassland bird species such as Western Bluebird, Western Kingbird, White-tailed Kite, and a variety of hawks. We'll learn about the flora and fauna of grassland ecosystems, and we'll be out early enough to catch some morning coolness.
Sarah McCullough, Yale '99, will lead the trip. Sarah is a doctoral student in Ecology at UC Davis. Her research focuses on burrowing owl and ground squirrel interactions in grassland ecosystems. She spent five years as a seasonal botanist and biological technician for the National Park Service in Northern California, and previously served in conservation internships in some of California's most wonderful ecoregions.
