Mark your calendars, and be sure to join us again this year for the live telecast of The Game as Harvard and Yale meet for their 129th epic clash. Eat breakfast, enjoy a beverage, and cheer for the Crimson. The Yale Club will be there, too, for some spirited, but friendly, rivalry.
- Date: Saturday, November 17.
- Time: Kick-off is at 9 a.m. PST.
- Place: deVere’s Irish Pub, 1531 L Street in Sacramento
To get in the mood, listen to "Ten Thousand Men of Harvard," “Harvardiana,” or “Fight Fiercely Harvard,” Tom Lehrer’s spoof fight song written when he was a sophomore at Harvard. Or you can watch Harvard Beats Yale 29-29, Kevin Rafferty’s 2008 documentary about the legendary 1968 Harvard-Yale game in which the come-from-behind tie score was widely regarded as a win for Harvard. The movie intersperses game footage with player reminiscences. (For celebrity watchers, Tommy Lee Jones was on the Harvard team, and Meryl Streep was dating one of the players.) Really enjoyable, and a great slice of Ivy League and American football history. Questions? Send an email to Sadia Niazi at sadiafniazi@hotmail.com. See you there!
