Book club to discuss "The Monuments Men"
“The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History” by Robert Edsel will be discussed at the May 14 meeting of the book club.
The book, which has been made into a movie, recounts the remarkable efforts of a special team devoted to saving thousands of art treasures from destruction by the Nazis near the end of World War II.
Harvard alumni played an important role on this team, as detailed in this Harvard Magazine article.
