'My Beloved World'

Memoir by Supreme Court justice to be discussed

"My Beloved World" by Sonia Sotomayor, a much praised memoir by the Supreme Court justice of her life up to her joining the court, will be discussed at the June 11 meeting of the booking club.

This book was published in January, and became a best-seller, and seems especially timely as Justice Sotomayor has lately been  emerging as one of the high court's most eloquent voices, albeit often in dissent. This is a moment to consider the important insights a voice from minority and poverty experience can bring to our highest level considerations of justice.  Still popular, the book is stocked at almost any bookstore as well as on line. It is available as hardback, softback and ebook.

The 6:30 p.m. get-together will start with a potluck dinner. It will be at the Elk Grove home of Bill and Nancy Myers. For more information, contact them via email at wemyers@cal.net.
