amador-wine-countryA Day in the Wine Country – Sunday, October 30th

Enjoy learning about the wines, the artwork, and the history of the Amador Valley

The Harvard Club of Sacramento, with the assistance of Mary Seppi, an alumnus of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, has put together a wonderful visit to the Amador wine country.

The day will start at 9:30am, when we all meet on Main Street in Plymouth (details forthcoming). At 10:00, we will arrive at Terra d’Oro Winery for a talk and tour led by Sandy Schwing, who wrote her thesis on an historical Italian grape grown at the vineyard (she is also the wife of the prize-winning winemaker). This will be followed by a visit to the Sobon Wine Family Estate tasting room and winemaking museum. (You get to keep the tasting glass!) Another Sobon winery, Shenandoah Vineyards, will offer a third wine tasting and an opportunity to visit their exhibition room of textiles and blown glass from local artists, Dave and Heather Hopman of CHAOS Glassworks. We will wrap up at about 1:30pm, after a final tasting and cheese pairing at Wilderotter Vineyard.

All of this for only $20 (plus a $2.09 Eventbrite fee). We only have room for 14 attendees, so don’t wait; this event will sell out quickly. Reserve your space at our Eventbrite site today. All attendees must be 21 or older. Questions? Contact Mary Seppi.
