HIDDEN FALLS HIKE - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6TH
Bring the whole family to celebrate the fall season at Hidden Falls Regional Park!
Hidden Falls Regional Park is located at 7587 Mears Place, Auburn, CA 95602 – about a 45-60 minute drive from the Sacramento area.
Hidden Falls has a quite a few trails along which several great vistas can be found. Our plan is for a hike of about six miles which would be suitable for families and casual hikers, although people could of course choose to follow their own route. We would meet in the parking lot by 9:00 a.m. and begin walking shortly thereafter, expecting to be finished by around 12:00 p.m. or so.
There is no potable water in the park, so everyone should bring plenty of water – two liters per person is suggested. Sturdy footwear, sunblock and insect repellent are also recommended.
The parking lot has a charge of $8.00, which should be purchased online prior to arrival in order to reserve a parking space – the lot can fill up completely on weekends. (Go to Hidden Falls Regional Park on the Placer County website to make the reservation.) Note that the areas next to the parking lot are all private property, so there really isn’t any other parking available.
Depending on how many people attend, we will have some suggestions for nearby restaurants for those who wish to have lunch together after the hike.
